Neville Livingston aka Bunny Wailer

  • Born Neville O'Riley Livingston, Kingston, Jamaica on April 10, 1947, affectionately called Bunny Livingston, Jan B or aka Bunny Wailer.  


  • Bunny Wailer spent his younger years in Nine Miles, St. Ann, Jamaica where he met Bob Marley and they became friends.  Interestingly, his father had an intimate relationship with Bob Marley's mother.  They had a daughter and Peter Tosh had a son with Bunny Waliler's sister.  He was a singer-songwriter and percussionist.


  • Bunny Wailer started his musical career in the early sixties.  He formed the group "Wailing Wailers" with Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Junior Braithwaite and Beverley Kelso.  He toured England and the United States.  In 1973 Bunny Wailer left the Wailers and adopted the name Bunny Wailer to pursue a solo career after Chris Blackwell wanted the Wailers to tour freak clubs in the United States.  He refused touring with them because as he said it is against  Rastafari principles.


  • Bunny Wailer started his solo carerr and experimented with disco on his album.  His music had dancehall and rockers influences.  He had many hit songs which included Dreamland and Dancing Shoes.


  • Bunny Wailer achieved many accomplishments.  In 1991, he won the Grammy Award for the Best Reggae Album, 1995 for Roots Classics, 1997 for Hall of Fames, 2012 he received the Order of Merit from Jamaica, 2017 he was awarded the Order of Merit from the Government of Jamaica, 2019 received a Pinnacle Award from the Coaliton to Preserve Reggae.  He did a month long tour of the Blackheart Man in celebration of his 40th year anniversary of his 1976 album.


  • In 2018 he suffered a minor stroke and suffered another one in 2020 in which he was admitted at Andrews Memorial Hospital located in St. Andrew, Jamaica.  He died at the age of 72 and would be 73 this coming April.


  • Neville Livingston aka Bunny Wailer transitioned but is his musical legacy lives on.

  • Born Ewart Beckford aka Daddy U Roy born September 21, 1942, Jones Town,  St. Andrew, Jamaica.  He started his DJ career in 1961  on Dickie Wong's sound system.  He  worked on Sir Coxsone Dodd's sound system.  His first two singles were released on Duke Reid's Treasure Isle label.
  • Daddy U Roy was the first individual in the Jamaica to lyrically toast music and was very successful in releasing  them on the Duke Reid label reaching a wider audience.  
  • Daddy U Roy released several albums.  He passed away on February 17th, 2021 at the age of  77,  He will be 78 this coming September. 
  • The musical legend left a legacy within the Reggae fraternity and will be missed.  RIP Daddy U Roy.

  • Born Frederick Nathaniel Hibbert aka Toots on December 8, 1942, May Pen, Clarendon, Jamaica.  He was a father and husband with seven children. 
  • Toots performed for 6 decades and was very influential with some of the fundamentals of reggae music.  Toots was credited in 1968 as the Genesis for the Genre of Reggae.
  • Toots played every instruments in his band and formed the Meytals in 1961.  He was featured in Willie Nelson's Outlaws and Angels.
  • He was honoured and ranked No. 71 in the Rolling Stone Magazine "100 Greatest Singers of All Time.  It was announced that he would receive the Order of Jamaica, which is the highest honour.
  • Toots died on September 12, 2020 at the age of 77 at the University Hospital of the West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica.  He's gone.  His music and legacy lives on.great stories to help turn potential customers into loyal ones.

  • Born Highland Ralph Dobson o July 5, 1942.  He was a Jamaica reggae singer and record producer.  He was named after one of  his popular song, The Loving Pauper.   He worked a salesman and proof-reader for the Jamaica Gleaner.  Mr. Dobson received the Order of Distiction in 2011 at Jamaica's 49th Independence. 
  • Mr.  Dobby Dobson was a Solo Artist.  He performed at Reggae Sunsplash and Sumfest Festivals.  In 1971, Mr. Dobson, recorded the song, The Wonderful Sound for Rupie Edwards and sold over 40,000 copies in the Caribbean.  He  released multiple albums on various record labels like Coxsone Dodd ad Duke Reid.
  • Highladd Ralph Dobson died on July 21, 2020 in Coral Springs, Florida.  He's gone.  His music and legacy lives on.
